Description
What to expect
Sunset in a two-person kayak is about as low-effort as a memorable evening gets. You paddle together at whatever pace suits you, the guide handles the route, and the light does the work. Good for couples, good for friends, good for anyone who’d rather share the experience than do it solo.
Where you’ll launch
We’re on Kew-Balmy Beach in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood, just east of the tennis courts. Launching straight off the sand means you’re on Lake Ontario within minutes of checking in — no roof racks, no portaging, no long walk to the water.
What to wear and bring
Wear something you don’t mind getting wet: shorts and a t-shirt, a tank top, yoga pants or swimwear all work well. Bring a towel, sunscreen, water and a change of clothes. Leave anything you’d hate to drop in the lake in the car.
Good to know before you book
All paddlers must be 18 or older and sign a waiver before heading out. Weekends fill up quickly, so booking ahead beats turning up and hoping. If there’s thunder or lightning we’ll ask you to rebook, and we sometimes close in high winds — conditions on the lake can differ a lot from conditions on shore, so call us at 416-553-4067 before you set out if the weather looks uncertain.
